At Akagera park you can also view the big 5 animals i.e. Lions, Elephants, Buffalos, Rhinos, and Leopards.

LAKE KIVU

Lake Kivu is the largest fresh water lake in Rwanda  and eighth largest in Africa with no crocodiles, hippos or other dangerous animals. Making it of great significance to their people.

There are a number of activities you can do at the Lake e.g.

  • Boat cruise
  • Sport fishing
  • Birding
  • Swimming
  • Visiting island
  • Biking/water sports
  • Visiting the imbabazi orphanage.

Secondly, the lake is home to 28 different fish species e.g. the Nile tilapia, the blue spotted tilapia and the red tilapia.

Waterbirds like the common waxbill, speckled pigeons, chin-spot batis, Ashy flycatcher, Bronzed sunbirds, Cardinal woodpecker, yellow- throated greenbull and many others.

Also Lake Kivu is a source of income to the Natives. Because of the different activities that are carried out by tourists to make their tours memorable.
