LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK

BELOW IS A FULL INFORMATION OF OUR SAFARI.

DAY 1:

On your adventure to Lake Manyara National Park. You will visit the park for a full day game drive. Stretching along the base of the Rift Valley escarpment.

Which is home to:

  • Giant fig trees,
  • Acacia woodlands,
  • Mahogany trees,
  • Grassy flood plains.

The contrasts of this area are simply breathtaking. With its open plains, huge escarpment, Soda Lake, dense woodlands & distant volcanic peaks, coming together in an area best described by Ernest Hemingway as “the loveliest I had seen in Africa”.

Animals e.g. buffalos, wildebeest, giraffes, mongoose, dik-dik & zebra herds congregate on the grassy plains.

While the acacia woodland is home to the legendary tree-climbing lions & tusked elephants.

Lake Manyara provides the perfect introduction to Tanzania’s bird life with more than 400 species being recorded.

Highlights include thousands of pink-hued flamingos on their perpetual migration. As well as other large water birds such as pelicans & storks.

After the days events you will have an overnight at your hotel in the park.

DAY 2:

We will arise early, for a short  morning game drive to experience some more of this marvel of Tanzania.

Return to the lodge for breakfast, followed by a short rest and then a mid morning departure to Lake Manyara National Park.

In the afternoon you will arrive to your hotel for lunch, rest and relaxation. Followed by late afternoon game drive and overnight at your hotel.

This park is known for its:

  • Breathtaking panoramic views,
  • Waterfalls,
  • Babbling brooks with
    clear water,
  • Hot springs.

It is located between the rocks of the Great Rift Valley and Lake Manyara. Of the approximately 390 km2 that make up the park. Two-thirds of that is water.

The rest of the park is a large strip of land between the lake and the rocks. The beauty of this park is partly due to its large variety of wildlife, grasslands, forests and water.

Lake Manyara has one of the largest populations of water birds in Africa at over 400 species, e.g. flamingos and pelicans. Large herds of elephants are also found here, as well as giraffes, hippos, water buffalos and impalas.
